Small, Undervalued Biotech Stocks Ripe for the Picking
Today's Financial News - Posted October 1, 2008
A wonder drug for incurable late stage melanoma…a stem cell harvester already granted approval…a cancer diagnostic tool with 98% accuracy…a cash cow stock with a history of acquiring drugs on the cheap with a new one right now!
Technology, banks and commodities have stolen the limelight in the past ten years, but this sector is where huge sums of money have been made and you don’t make money in this business by waiting until after the results are announced.

Baltimore — (TFN): Under the microscope today is the Access Research Group, or Access as we call it here at TFN. It will also save me saying it seven times during this segment.
Access, is headed up by Marc Lichtenfeld. Marc comes to us from the institutional side of the research business where he specialized in small emerging biotech, medical and pharmaceutical companies. So it’s reasonable that access is an emerging biotech, pharm, and medical research service that finds small, under priced companies before the institutions do.

It’s been a long time since this medical/pharma/tech sector has been really hot, and it’s overdue. Technology, banks and commodities have stolen the limelight in the past ten years, but this sector is where huge sums of money have been made.
Currently Marc has four plays in his model portfolio. His latest is a company that has a phase three trial for late stage melanoma, for which there is currently no cure and is usually fatal. The company’s phase two trials showed that there was an increase in survival rates and that the drug was safe. He describes this company as the next Celgene.
He has a device maker that is also in phase three trials as well. This diagnostic tool is also for melanoma and proved 98% accurate in phase two. That compares to the current diagnostic process that is only 50 to 70% accurate. This device will increase the average dermatologist practice’s revenues by 130K and it’s completely non-invasive.
There is also a device maker that harvests stem cells and its already approved in Europe. It has been used in breast reconstruction and doctors are already using it for cosmetic purposes.
Finally, he has a cash cow stock as he calls it that has a history of acquiring drugs on the cheap. They are zeroing in on another one right now.
This entire sector has all but been ignored for a long time. It’s overdue.
Marc is one of the sharpest people I have met in the research business in a long time. He’s in touch with all the key players in these companies and stands to make a ton of money when the phase three trial results are reported.
You don’t make money in this business by waiting until after the results are announced. Marc has four companies that look to be on track to make really big returns. He’s already up almost 10% before anything has been announced.
10% isn’t much? How’s your portfolio doing do far this year?
Access is available on an annual basis and for my money looks to be worth every penny.
