Hot Stock Pick of the Week: A winning stock in grim times
Posted August 21, 2008
Reading the financials of dozens of companies, Laura Cadden repeatedly found a depressing lack of confidence about the next two quarters – until she uncovered this manufacturer.

Finding a company with a promising outlook in these wretched times is rough. Even those currently seeing net profits are forecasting doom and gloom for the rest of the year – and well into 2009.
But I’ve found an aircraft component manufacturer that not only increased its revenues by 11% and its net income by 27% in the second quarter over the same time last year but its backlog actually went up by 9%.
And best of all, it’s on target with its anticipated revenue for the end of 2008.
Now I’d love to give you the name of this value stock, but you see, it’s confidential.
