Baltimore — (TFN): TodaysFinancialNews.com LLC, the Baltimore-based financial news Internet portal, launched a premium multi-media information service geared toward savvy individual stock investors and day traders on Monday, July 14, 2008.
The new service, Hot Stock Confidential, is aimed at “regular” investors who want to use current market volatility to pinpoint and invest in good, solid stocks of companies with superior investment potential.
Publisher and Editor-in-Chief J. Christoph Amberger calls Hot Stock Confidential’s approach “DGS Investing”:
“The concept is simple. There’s no ’secret backdoor’ or ’secret currency. No pseudonyms or gimmicks that copywriters and marketers make up to sell you. We simply pick stocks that we’d buy ourselves… and have no problem recommending even to our relatives. Companies whose insiders are buying, that have easy-to-understand business concepts, established markets, growing revenues and unique products. We’re simply looking for ‘Damn Good Stocks’.”

Right now, there are literally dozens of companies that fit the “DGS” bill.
Amberger, a native of West Berlin (Germany), has 20 years hands-on experience in the financial publishing industry. He was the Executive Publisher of Taipan, one of the oldest and most respected international financial newsletters, and over a dozen trading information services. He developed editorial teams and the investing and trading systems that created hundreds of highly profitable recommendations for his readers over the years. (Financial book publisher John Wiley even invited him to write a book on his “Dynamic Market” approach to trading: Hot Trading Secrets, published in 2006.)
“The communication technology we spearheaded—we launched the first U.S.-based fax information service in 1995, one of the first financial newsletter websites in 1996, and one of the first investment eletters in 1999—has been widely copied by our colleagues and competitors,” Amberger says. The group’s main portal, TodaysFinancialNews.com, was one of the first financial newsletter sites to combine blog technology and daily Internet videos.
Hot Stock Confidential’s editorial team includes Laura Cadden, the host and research director of the weekly online video show, Smart Trading; Krista Das, who produces the weekly financial show Smart Investing Market Insights; and Stephanie Grimmett, who started her journalism career covering the local beat at a Virginia-based newspaper and then headed up the Taipan Research Department since 2006. Her research discovered a simple “backdoor” that enabled Taipan readers to get into a slew of highly profitable Chinese IPOs when the Shanghai stock exchange was posting one record after the other.
What is Hot Stock Confidential currently recommending?
Amberger says that’s confidential. “I can tell you this much: With oil trading in the $140s, we’ve recently noticed that the smart money is betting on a substantial drop in crude prices. In fact, one Fed chairman in particular just put $509,000 of his own money into stocks of an oil-related company that would instantly profit from lower oil prices. We found a company in the same sector that is even better positioned!”
