TFN accurately forecasts initial claims numbers
Posted June 5, 2008
Baltimore — (TFN): The Labor Department reported that the number of Americans filing first-time jobless claims unexpectedly fell last week. Initial claims decreased to 357,000 in the week that ended May 31, the lowest level in more than a month.
Analysts had expect new claims to come in at 370,000.
Not TFN, however! Yesterday we wrote: “We believe that growth in the service sector may result in claims around 350,000 or less.”
How’s this for “eerily accurate” forecasting?
