Baltimore – (TFN): The following was taken from Ian Cooper’s appearance on TFN’s 60-Second Buzz. Watch this video.
Soon, you won’t find 100-watt incandescent light bulbs any more. As part of the 822-page measure inked by the President, the 100-watt incandescent bulbs will be banned by 2012, making way for bulbs that use 25% to 30% less energy. It’s a move that’ll cut consumer electricity usage by 60% and lop an estimated annual $18 billion off U.S. electric bills.
As I told my readers December 21, the one company to own is Cree Inc. (CREE:NASDAQ).

Since then, the ignored, under-the-radar $2 billion gem ran from my $22.45 entry price to more than $28, thanks in part to American Technology Research CEO Richard Prati who said the company’s LED technology would grow “astronomically” in upcoming years.
Better yet, the LED industry is expected to exceed $1 billion by 2011, a 388% jump from the $205 million market value in 2005. You really can’t go wrong with buying Cree on that potential. Even Royal Philips Electronics is aware of the potential; having just announced it was buying Genlyte for $2.7 billion as part of its LED-related company-buying spree.
The growth is there. You just have to catch it early with Cree-like stocks.
For TodaysFinancialNews.com, I’m Ian Cooper.
