Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is firing up the hype generator. Its new iTablet may be introduced officially as early as this week. Is it worth looking at the stock?

Baltimore, MD: Taking my clue from the prevailing political culture, I decided to nourish my own feeling of entitlement to one of the new Apple tablet computers.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is carefully fueling the hype machine, sending out a press invitation via email to “come see our latest creation”.
Now, with the various phones and BlackBerrys out that have more RAM, features and functionality than a roomful of desktop computers 20 years ago, the splash may not be quite as big as anticipated. Then again, who had thought that the launch of the iPhone three years ago completely re-configured the concept of mobile phones.
I wouldn’t mind playing AAPL just on this news. The cost of a share, at $206 a share before market open today, is a bit off-putting. Then again, both AAPL and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) have shown that the sky is the limit.
