Sunrise at Hacienda San Joaquin

Today's Financial News - Posted January 12, 2009

Joe Simonetta believes he’s found the one place in the world where you can live completely free of today’s stress. An idyllic valley where you can enjoy life… without financial pressure, foul weather, or natural disasters.

There’s a lot of pressure in the world today.

A debt crisis and a credit crisis have brought the financial system to its knees. The housing market is in a major slump. Retirement funds are dwindling, while the cost of living is going up 12% annually… a record-setting pace.

And meanwhile, the world edges closer to a global energy crisis.

For most people, the safe and secure future—the future we all want—is uncertain.

But there is a place where you can live stress-free, surrounded by nature, and on a budget that won’t cost you the earth.

Enjoy a proven, stress-free lifestyle that’s almost impossible to imagine… until you see it for yourself

My name is Joe Simonetta, and I live in a real-world Shangri La… on a large hacienda, high in the Andes of southern Ecuador, in the Vilcabamba Valley. The Valley of Longevity.

Here in the valley, the weather is always just right… never too hot or too cold. We live in shirtsleeves and open our windows to the fresh air every day of the year. There are no hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes, or other natural disasters.

And the energy crisis? To be honest, without heat or air conditioning, we don’t need much energy. If the electricity were to go off, I’d light a candle and enjoy the sounds of the night.

And financially? The truth is that here in the valley, expats can live on a few hundred dollars per month. And if push came to shove, we could live completely off the land, as most of the locals do.

We use the U.S. dollar here in Ecuador, so I don’t even have to worry about the dollar’s volatile exchange rate.

Now I’ve made it easy for you to share in this unique way of life

When I first visited Vilcabamba, I fell in love with it. The lush, green valley surrounded by tall Andean peaks was awe-inspiring. The pure mountain air and rushing rivers were invigorating, and, along with the stress-free environment, hinted at why people here live such long and healthy lives.

I was determined to stay…as are many who visit the valley.

I bought a large, old hacienda of almost 700 acres, tucked away over two miles from the Pan-American Highway. It sits on the fabled Vilcabamba River, about 10 minutes down the valley from the village of Vilcabamba.

While the town of Vilcabamba is about 10 minutes away, the city of Loja lies about 50 minutes from the hacienda. Loja is a city of about 125,000, with major stores, restaurants, two orchestras, and various schools. Loja is also the site of the nearest airport.

I decided to create a tasteful, planned community that was completely in character with the valley and its people. Today, Hacienda San Joaquín is home to an international community of people who value nature, peace, and tranquility.

Our residents enjoy the riverside park, and often gather at the Equestrian and Hiking Center, with its two stables, grooming area, outdoor café, and organic ranch store. Our horseback and hiking trails keep us fit, active, and in tune with nature.

The hacienda is lush with vegetation, birds, and butterflies, along with many mature trees. And thanks to the perfect year ‘round climate, residents are able to grow just about anything, from every imaginable tropical fruit to all kinds of vegetables and flowers.

Finding the best location for Sunrise was easy. One morning at daybreak I set out on horseback, and a short time later found myself at a high elevation on the eastern side of the hacienda. As the sun crested over the towering Andean peaks, I realized that I’d found the place on this vast property that sees the morning sun first.

I’d found the perfect spot for our new project… Sunrise at Hacienda San Joaquín.

From the riverside spa to the hillside properties, Sunrise paints an enviable lifestyle picture

hsj-valley-2-small.jpgThe panoramic views from Sunrise are breathtaking… among the best in the entire region.

The project consists of 26 hillside homesites, a pool and riverside spa, and a mountaintop boutique condo-hotel which in turn manages the 43 large guest cabañas.

We are now offering the homesites and the large cabañas for sale.

The homesites

These 26 hillside properties enjoy some of the most spectacular views in Vilcabamba. They range in size from just over a half-acre to almost two acres. And each homesite has a different orientation, natural vegetation, and view. The roads are well-lit and paved, and we bring underground electricity and internet to each site…in addition to the excellent drinking water from our own wells.

If you buy one of the homesites and would like our assistance with homebuilding, we can design and build a beautiful home with a rich blend of updated Andean architecture, and all of the modern conveniences.

If you’re not ready to build just yet, no problem; if you need our help, we’ll be here when you’re ready.

The spa

On the banks of the Vilcabamba River, our health spa at Sunrise will feature a mix of services and treatments, including massage, facials, Jacuzzi, and therapeutic treatments. We’ll also offer exercise, meditation, and yoga along with a number of other services.

You’ll enjoy the spa’s tranquil setting along the river, among tall and beautiful trees.

The hotel

The views from the hotel site almost defy description. The architecture is typically upscale Ecuadorian hacienda: warm woods, traditional columns, exposed beam ceilings, and clay tile roofs. We’ve also included granite countertops, and beautiful ceramic and wood floors.

Vilcabamba enjoys Ecuador’s highest concentration of English-speakers. Not only due to U.S. expats, but thanks to a unique international community with residents from around the world.

The hotel features a variety of dining areas, porches, balconies, and a large subterranean wine cellar. There’s also a second floor lounge, grand piano and dance floor, two residential suites, several large and connected meeting rooms, as well as a modern and highly-functional business center.

The hotel will also operate the nearby cabañas, placing guests in those cabañas whose owners are not in residence.

Here is the perfect solution for those who want to “stake their claim” here in the valley, but are not yet ready to come full-time

The cabañas

The 43 beautiful cabañas feature architecture that’s similar in style and quality to the hotel. Each has one or two bedrooms, and two baths. Every cabaña features living, dining, entertainment, study, and loft spaces… along with full kitchens and laundries, skylights, and porches.

The views from these cabañas, like those from the hotel, are truly amazing. Unlike most guest cabañas, these are large and livable: sizes vary from approximately 1,200 to 1,500 square feet.

We are offering the cabañas—delivered “turnkey,” beautifully finished and furnished—as part of our revenue-sharing plan. Revenues will be shared 50-50 with the hotel, which will manage the rentals and maintain the cabañas in tip-top shape.

Our bilingual lawyers will ensure that your property deed is properly executed, and can help you obtain U.S. title insurance if desired. They will also guide you through the process if you wish to become a resident of Ecuador.

Owners will hold title to the cabañas and the land that goes with them.

Owning a cabaña is not just a convenient way to buy a turnkey home, but it’s also perfect for an investor who wants to generate cash flow, while reserving a place in the valley for the future.

Remember, one of the most convenient aspects about home ownership at Sunrise is that when you’re away from Ecuador, you can leave without worrying about your property. While you’re gone, it will be looked after and cared for in a safe, secure environment.

You won’t find anything like Sunrise … anywhere … at any price

Whether you choose a homesite, a homesite with a custom home, or a turnkey cabaña, you can be sure that your life in the valley will be comfortable, peaceful, and secure.

No matter what the world throws at us, you’re immune. You’ll have a quality of life that few enjoy… in fact, that few even know about.

Now is the time lot “lock-in” your stake in this paradise

sunrise-valley2.jpgRegardless of which option you choose at Sunrise, rest assured that you’ll have the world’s best weather, the valley’s best views, and a healthy, active lifestyle among good friends and neighbors.

Our Sunrise homesites start at $100,000, and prices vary according to size and location. If you’d like us to assist in building a home on your property—up to and including a turnkey—we’ll be happy to give you a quote.

The fully-furnished and equipped cabañas are $140,000 for the one-bedroom, two-bath model, and $160,000 for the two-bedroom, two-bath design. Remember, you’ll get full title to the house and the land, and we’ll take care of the maintenance and the administration… and we’ll split the rental profits.

Either way, the brilliant sunrise and the pure mountain air are yours for life.

But please don’t delay. When we offered the original homesites at Hacienda San Joaquín, they sold briskly. And I’m sure that these few properties won’t last long in today’s climate.

At last… a safe and secure future, away from the stress and worries of the world… where nothing can touch you

I’ve traveled the world over and to be honest, I could have lived anywhere. There are plenty of great choices out there.

But I chose Vilcabamba because in my considerable experience, there’s no better place to spend my days.

I didn’t come to Vilcabamba to be a property developer. And to me, Sunrise at Hacienda San Joaquín is more than just a project… much more.

The hacienda is my home. And I’d like you to make it yours, as well.

I have seen several sites for your beautiful property but I must ask, are you selling the major estate buildings? Some of the sites offered the estate and 14 acres. If this is the case, what will it do to the residents who are buying property and building homes? Will there be access to the stable, store, gardens, pool…… etc?
