Pathfinder presents…
Mazatlan Discovery Weekend—hosted by Mexico Alive—
January 29th to 31st, 2009
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a home along Mexico’s Pacific Coast, only to have disappear when you started checking out real estate prices in places like Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit, I’ve got good news for you.
Our friends at Mexico Alive have crafted a discovery weekend that’s very likely to put that dream back within your grasp.
The destination for this three-day getaway is Mazatlan, Mexico’s “Pearl of the Pacific”… a 15-mile stretch of sun-splashed golden beaches, blue lagoons, palm trees, and perpetual summer…
And as far as keeping your dream alive is concerned, the timing couldn’t be better.
Let me explain…
Mazatlan was considered the Grand Dame of Pacific resorts during the late 19th century… a haunt of wealthy Europeans and Mexican aristocracy… and, more recently, a favorite ocean-side hangout for celebrities like John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and John Huston…
…Before the rich and famous headed southward to the newer, trendier vacation playgrounds springing up down the coast.
Tourism still thrives here… but it’s been quite a few years since Mazatlan was on the top of anyone’s vacation “hot-spots”. Until now…
The October 2008 issue of Travel & Leisure has named Mazatlan one of its Top 25 Emerging Destinations… and for good reason.

You see, Mazatlan is in the midst of a renaissance that is reawakening its prior splendor…
In Mazatlan’s Centro Historico, the Spanish colonial mansions—abandoned and all but forgotten after the city’s heyday—are now being restored… stylish cafes, boutiques, up-scale restaurants, and hotels are opening up on seemingly every corner… and, in the evening, the festive flavor of Old Mexico mixes with the very modern, hopping nightlife of the many clubs and bars…
And, along the oceanfront, Mazatlan’s former glamour is re-emerging with new residential developments that rival those of Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Mexico’s other elite resort playgrounds… only (for now, at least) with much lower price points… and a ton of upside potential.
Three relaxing, no-obligation days in the “Pearl of the Pacific” that could end up being your opportunity of a lifetime
Your Mazatlan Discovery Weekend is a relaxing opportunity to experience the best that Mazatlan has to offer… from its warm sun, inviting golden sand beaches, and breathtaking Pacific sunsets, to the Spanish colonial architecture and festive air of its Old Town that transports your mind from the tourist zone into the true cultural flavor of Mexico.
When you join your hosts, Mexico Alive, in Mazatlan this January 29th to 31st, you’ll learn a lot of useful information about investing and owning real estate in Mexico.
They’ve lined up Tom Kelly, real estate editor and author of Cashing in on a Second Home in Mexico as a keynote speaker, for example—and you’ll have a chance to take a close-up look at some of the most inviting properties in Mazatlan.
But the focus of your Discovery Weekend is definitely heavy on the leisure side—a chance to savor a bit of the alluring lifestyle that has made Mazatlan a popular destination for expats and second-home owners… with planned activities like a Mexican Fiesta, a cruise out on the Pacific, a guided tour of Mazatlan, and a sunset dinner.
No sitting through hard-sell sessions. No high-pressure sales tactics. And absolutely no obligation on your part for attending the Discovery Weekend.
But if, as I suspect, these three days in Mazatlan recharge your dream of owning a vacation home or even starting a new lifestyle in this Pacific paradise… then this is also an excellent opportunity to get some of your questions answered and to get a feel for the kind of real estate available in Mazatlan…
And you may not have to look any further than your home base for the weekend, El Cid five-star resort…
You can get an early foothold in Mazatlan’s real estate renaissance
Whether your ideal home in paradise is a condo close to the ocean to escape to a couple of weeks out of the year… a marina or golf community where your recreational passion is just steps from your front door… or an estate set amid lush tropical gardens… you’ll likely find it at El Cid, Mazatlan’s premiere resort community.
You’ll get an up-close look at this impressive community during your Mazatlan Discovery Weekend… but don’t think for a moment that owning a piece of this idyllic setting is necessarily cost-prohibitive.
Prices at El Cid begin at only $180,000… it’s a relatively budget-gentle way to gain a foothold in a real estate market that is almost certain to follow the upward price-swings of Mexico’s other ocean-side resort communities.

Mazatlan is in Sinaloa state on of the most drug oriented and violent states in Mexico . I wish these real estate “advertisements” would quit trying to disguise themselves as news stories.
Mexico is Mexico ,dirty, unsafe, congested and corrupt . A renegade country going down the tubes and smart people and investors we know are pulling the plug on their investments south of the border ,just too creepy and the lack of security is frightening .
