Enough already: Let’s get rid of these two losing stocks!
Posted June 30, 2008
Baltimore — (TFN): Ambac Financial (ABK-NYSE) and Indochina Cap Vietnam Holding (ICVHF) have lost 80% am 42% of their value since we recommended them. Ambac lost 14% today alone… and probably might regain a few nickels and dimes over the next couple of days on a potential rebound. We usually recommend a 30% trailing stop on all our positions… but in case you were still waiting for us to say “Uncle”, well, here ya go.
Our Vietnam fund is down along with the Vietnamese market. We entered it as a long-time speculation on Vietnam’s emergence as a serious competitor to China for cheap labor. We’re sticking to that outlook but don’t quite see the stock doubling any time soon this year. Keep your eyes on it, maybe sequester shares at current prices of lower for your long-term portfolio, but otherwise, let’s get rid of these two stinkers.
