Gold futures continue to slide to five-week low

Baltimore — (TFN): Gold futures continued to slide in morning trading, reaching their lowest level in five weeks as crude oil traded just slightly above $122.
Gold for August delivery was down $5.80 at $878 per ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It traded as low as $868 earlier in the day, the weakest intraday level it’s seen since May 2. The contract lost a total of $13.20 in the past two trading sessions.
